Understanding Who/Whom/Whose/Which


*** Remember, whose and whom can be very confusing. Let's look at the examples provided.

1) Tom whose mother is a cook can cook very well.

2) Tom whom Mother says is a cook can cook very well.

Note that in the second statement. Mother is in capital M. When a noun is being written in capital letter. It is a common noun, not belongingness. Thus in the second question, Mother does not belong to Tom.
